Antiaircraft missile system «ОSА-АK» AAMS 9К33М2

AAMS "OSA-АK" is a short range all-weather self-propelled air-defense system capable to defeat the piloted (aircraft, helicopters) and unmanned air-attack facilities (cruise missiles, remote piloted aircraft) in conditions of hostile active radio-electronic jamming. 

This System is an amphibious vehicle able to overcome water obstacles with very high cross-country abilities and combat capabilities, jamming resistance and short time since target detection to acquisition.

Configuration of AAMS "OSA-АK"

Main tactical and technical characteristics:

Missile guidance method – telecommanded.

Guidance type – three-point, special three-point method during firing low-altitude targets.

Parameters of AAMS defeat zone:

  • range – 1,5 to 10 km;
  • altitude – 0,025 to 5 km;
  • target speed – up to 500 m per sec opposite course,
  • up to 300 m per sec overtaking course.

Number of missiles loaded on Combat vehicle – 6 units in launching transporting container.

 

Combat vehicle 9А33VM2

are three-axle chassis of high cross-country ability BAZ-5937 equipped with water-jet, propelling diesel engine, navigation, topographic and communication facilities, and power supply.

Combat vehicle 9АЗЗBМ2 

Target acquisition radar mounted on Combat vehicle is a coherent pulse all-round looking microwave radar with horizontally stabilized antenna which allows target searching and acquisition while moving on road or water.

Antenna of acquisition radar provides all-round looking at speed 33 r.p.m. by azimuth, and by elevation – beam shift to one of three positions at each rotation of antenna.

System is well protected against active and passive jamming and provided with efficient moving-target indicator of external coherence.

Combat vehicle 9АЗЗBМ2 

Target tracking radar of microwave band mounted on Combat vehicle provides a hidden mono-conic scanning and target automatic 3-dimension tracking – by range, azimuth and elevation..

Mean square error of target tracking constitutes 0,3 points by angular coordinates, and 3 m by range. System includes moving-target indicator and various anti-jamming facilities. In condition of strong active jamming, target tracking is provided by TV-optical camera by angular coordinates.

Combat vehicle 9АЗЗBМ2 provides simultaneous guidance of two antiaircraft guided missiles 9М33М2 to a target being tracked by target tracker. For this purpose Missile Guidance Station uses two sets of wide and medium beam antennas for target acquisition and then launching two missiles guided by target tracker beam with minimum interval (3-5 sec).

Combat vehicle and Transporter-loader are three-axle chassis of high cross-country ability BAZ-5937 equipped with water-jet, propelling diesel engine, navigation, topographic and communication facilities, and power supply. Self-propelled chassis BAZ-5937 is able to move on earth roads up to 36 km/h during day, and 25 km/h during night. Maximum speed on high road up to 80 km/h. Afloat speed – up to 7-10 km/h. 

Antiaircraft guided missile 9М33М2 

Missile 9МЗЗМ2 has a “duck” aerodynamic shape. Missile not stabilized by roll, therefore it is equipped with control command gyro unit. To decrease “oblique air blast” originated by air stream from rudders, wing unit is mounted on bearing and freely rotates relative to missile long axis. Main component parts of missile: in nose of missiles – radio guidance equipment (command radio unit), radio aiming unit (responder), autopilot, radio-fuse, on-board power supply unit, warhead with safety-actuation mechanism; tail-end of missile – rocket motor, radio unit and transponder antennas.

Missile 9МЗЗМ2 delivered in launching transporting container and does not require any preparation prior to firing except for installation of frequency code unit into missile on-board equipment during loading onto launcher. Radio-fuse has two-channel receiver with autonomous altitude analyzer at the instant of cocking which makes impossible the radio-fuse misoperation from ground at altitude up to 27 m.

Transporter-loader 9Т217BМ2 is used for transportation and storage of missiles 9М33М2, and loading them on Combat vehicle 9А33BМ2. Transporter-loader is equipped with hydraulic crane. 

Mobile control and test station 9V242-1 and Technological equipment set 9F16М2 are used for periodic control and test of missiles 9М33М2 parameters. 

Maintenance vehicle 9В210М3 is used for maintenance and current repair of Combat vehicles 9А33БМ2. 

Adjusting vehicle 9V914 is used for adjustment of antenna systems and equipment of Combat vehicles 9А33BМ3. 

Structurally Combat vehicles 9А33BМ2 brought together in Antiaircraft Missile Battalion which consists of (4) Combat vehicles. Combat vehicles operational management in battalion is provided by Control Post PU-12М.
