 There are two installed interchangeable afterburner double-circuit turbo-jets RD-33, with controllable nozzle.
Combat load - 3000 kg on 6 points of suspension Built-in 30-mm gun GSh-30-1 with 150 shells, 80 (4 × 20) × 80 mm S-8 in blocks B-8M,4 × 500 (OFAB-500ShR) or 4 × 250 kg (OFAB-250ShN).

For combat with air targets on six under-wing sites MiG-29 can be installed (but is not a part of a supply)six in-fighting missiles R-60M or short-range R-73 with IR target seeker; four in-fighting short-range missile sand two in-fighting medium-range missiles R-27RE with radio located or R-27TE with IR target seeker system.

The cabin is equipped with a display system of information on the background of the windshield, as well as helmet-mounted target designation system. The last one allows pilot instantly produce target acquisition homing missiles, by just looking at the target. The control panel has a button that immediately transforms the plane into a state-level flight with zero roll when the pilot looses an orientation.

Radio-location sighting system RLPK-29, includes pulse Doppler radar and calculator C100.02-06. Improved RLPK-29 with detection range of fighter class is installed aboard: against a background of a free space 75 km, against a background of a land on an opposite course 65 km, overtaking course 35 km.

Electro-optical sighting and navigation system ОEPRNK-29, includes electro-optical sighting and navigation system, which, in turn, consists of a quantum-optical radar station COLS (infrared sensor collimated with a laser rangefinder, range of detection of air targets 15 km range of the laser rangefinder 6 km, the zone of the review : azimuth +30' / -30 'and +15' / -15' in elevation +15' / -15 ') and autonomous helmet-mounted target designation system Sh-ZUM (provides information on the issue of sighting angles goals both missile sighting system with TGS, as well as issuing information on the status of the pilot systems and missiles ready for launch. The information is displayed as symbols on a special helmet-mounted reflector).
